Role: Finance Business Partner

Location: Wythenshawe – Hybrid – 2 office days per week

Role Purpose: Finance lead for Business Unit, including Business Partnering on day-to-day activities and FP&A. Key role in driving operational performance, gross margin improvement and ensuring accountability. Responsible for Certification and Capital Projects (including Renewables)

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of business unit P&L and FP&A

  • Processing month end close for business units, delivering accurate and robust valuation of Work in Progress, accrued income and direct cost accruals. Drive continuous improvement to meet time and quality constraints

  • Creation and review of Work In Progress (WIP) files

  • Help to drive new business opportunities by creating robust Sales models and commercial proposals in accordance with budgeted pricing & profitability guidelines

  • Support the MI Team to provide robust reporting to enable Operational Management to drive performance

  • Leading the annual budget process for business units and periodic corporate financial forecasts for the UK in accordance with BV UK quality and timeline expectations. Drive continuous improvement in the quality of both via the implementation of appropriate measures.

  • Month end review and analysis to assist in decision making for business leaders, using insights to drive operational performance

  • Implementation and review of financial controls and processes to improve accuracy and efficiencies

  • Understanding of capacity and utilisation relating to business unit resource, helping to drive improvements

  • Driving improvements in working capital by working closely with invoicing and credit control to resolve issues and implement best practice and streamline processes

  • Implementation of Finance initiatives in business units helping to drive agenda in-line with business priorities and ensure consistency with wider business

  • Ad-hoc Finance modelling, for example business cases and CAPEX projects

  • Working closely with Operational Management, Client Development Team and Head of Operational Account performance to review contract performance for the business units and create action plans to address issues relating to growth & profitability

  • Day to day Finance Business Partnering with stakeholders throughout the business units to increase commercial awareness and sound decision-making

Experience & Skills Required:

  • Proven business partner experience with a sound knowledge of best practice approaches

  • Ability to influence and challenge stakeholders at all levels

  • Problem solving skills and an analytical approach

  • IT literacy (advanced MS Excel, Access desirable)

  • Advanced Excel skills

  • Access skills preferred but not essential

Qualifications Required:

  • Educated to degree level in a related discipline

  • Qualified ACCA / CIMA / ACA
