YOUR TEAM

  • An opportunity to join our Rail Civil Engineering team located in one of WSP’s offices located in Leeds, Manchester or London.

  • Use your skills to enhance others career development and provide mentoring for Contractors Responsible Engineer (CRE). Along with supported progression to CEM should you wish to pursue this career direction

  • Preparation of technical outputs to the highest standards in accordance with the WSP’s quality management system

  • Engaging with and developing good working relationships with multiple internal and external stakeholders, including Network Rail / Local Authorities/ Tier 1 Contractor clients and other technical disciplines

  • Resolving technical civil engineering and multi-disciplinary design issues

  • Help to develop the production of drawings, reports and specifications working closely with Engineers and Technicians to delivery to programme

  • Scope, procure and supervise/ manage surveys

  • Opportunity to work under mentorship to develop and undertake CRE / CEM responsibilities on Rail projects

  • Operate in a multi-disciplinary environment and delivering projects in a Common Data Environment (CDE)

  • Undertaking the necessary design (calculations, design, risk assessments, etc.) supported by other team members including technicians to produce the required design deliverable outputs

  • Client, Contractor and Subcontractor liaison and management

  • Manage design delivery teams

  • Management, input into and preparation of bids and proposals

  • Significant experience in the technical delivery and management of all stages of Multi-Disciplinary Rail Engineering Projects from initial studies through to detailed design.

  • Chartered Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers or nearing Chartered status.

  • Working knowledge of the relevant legislation and guidelines including Network Rail Standards, British and European Standards, Eurocodes and Codes of Practice.

  • A Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related subject accredited by the Engineering Council.
