The Work
Lockheed Martin Rotary & Mission Systems is seeking a Systems Engineer (SE) on the Taiwan Indigenous Defense Submarine (IDS) Program at our Manassas, VA, facility. In this position, you will participate across the IDS engineering teams. You will help in a variety of ways, including software/system integration, hardware stand-up, test planning, certification and sell-off, and system delivery support. You will have a variety of internal interfaces, with EPMs, engineering leads and other peers. There will also be periodic interface with customer representatives and fleet members, whether in our labs or when in-country on travel. You will also be expected to support system evaluation and troubleshooting, investigate discrepancies, provide technical assessment of anomalies, and drive issues to resolution. Document generation and delivery is a significant part of this role, including product specifications, interface design documentation, set-to-work and installation procedures, test procedures, and test reports. International travel in support of program activities will be required, approximately 10% yearly.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 9 years of professional experience; or 7 years of professional experience with a related Master’s degree.
- Experience with SEIT document development and CDRL delivery
- Experience in System Integration & Testing programs, including formal verification events
- Experience with detailed software and hardware development programs
- Ability to troubleshoot issues, analyze test results, and promptly communicate findings
- Qualified candidates must be able to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance. This requires U.S. Citizenship.
Desired Skills:
- Experience with International Subs programs
- Experience working onboard Naval Platforms
- Customer interfacing skills to deliver appropriate messages and work through issue resolution
- Providing requisite SE input and involvement throughout an Agile development process
- Experience with Model Based System Engineering methodology and tools (Cameo MagicDraw preferred)
- Experience with DOORS requirement management
- Anti-Submarine Warfare experience, including sonar, sensors, weapon control

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
