Overview

This position provides leadership and direction to facility management and teammates concerning human resources related issues. Position oversees the human resources management of the division and provides human resources expertise to Division management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: (Varies)

May supervise Recruiters and/or administrative teammates. If so, position has full supervisory responsibility for recruitment, hiring, retention, performance development, performance management, salary adjustments, and termination of direct reports.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all inclusive.

Provide coaching and counseling to managers and teammates to resolve teammate relations issues and conflict and to minimize DaVita's legal risk in employment matters

Work with DaVita's Justice League on employment issues including but not limited to at-risk terminations, subpoenas, and lawsuits as necessary

Know, understand, implement, follow, communicate, and ensure compliance with all DaVita employment policies and procedures, awards, and other opportunities within company and enable local managers to foster a positive work environment

Assess, analyze, and recommend to Division management solutions that impact teammate retention, reward, leadership, and development

Partner with management and human resources teammates in establishing and managing effective performance goals and evaluation programs

Ensure all DaVita employment processes are completed timely and in compliance with DaVita policy and any applicable laws including but not limited to ePCNs, Performance Development Reviews, maintenance of teammate personnel files, etc.

Create and maintain a close partner-relationship with field, division, and group management

Inform and advise Division teammates at all levels of DaVita human resources policies and procedures

Interpret and apply human resources policies and procedures for Division teammates

Provide coaching and counseling to all levels of Division management on recruitment, hiring, retention, performance development, performance management, salary adjustments, and terminations as necessary

Provide and/or present in-service programs in all areas of People Services functions and human resources subjects as requested; may evaluate/select publicly available training programs for both management and teammates

Provide guidance to individual managers regarding managerial styles, skills, and performance

Collaborate with leadership to provide short- and long-term strategies and support to align succession planning and business strategy

Research and suggest to management new programs and/or systems to generate continuous improvement in division-specific human resources processes

Conduct ongoing analysis of executive and management development needs

Work collaboratively with Division recruiting team on recruitment and retention activities

Provide and support community outreach activities, including but not limited to internal and external job fairs, involvement with community-based organizations, etc.

Manage all teammate employment activity such as hiring, retention, ePCN completion, promotions, job performance, evaluations, disciplinary actions, Triple Crown awards, other DaVita programs, and annual reviews with appropriate approvals as required

Serve as primary human resources liaison between the field and Division Offices including but not limited to division issues, questions, and procedures; collaborate closely with Group People Services Director as needed on issues, trends, etc.

Develop and maintain in-depth, current knowledge and understanding of applicable wage and hour laws, local compensation issues, federal, state and local la s and regulations, Medicare, legislation affecting employment within the Division states, and the roles of teammates in the Division's mission accomplishment

If applicable to the specific Group and/or Division, develop and manage a recruiting team that may include recruiters and administrative teammates

Perform all teammate management functions including but not limited to the providing leadership to direct reports:

1.) Help direct reports overcome any organizational obstacles encountered

2.) Know, understand, implement, follow, and communicate to teammates DaVita employment policies and procedures, awards, and other opportunities within company and foster a positive work environment

3.) Facilitate teammate development (PDRs, coaching, mentoring, DaVita training, outside training); collaborate with direct reports to create professional development goals

4.) Develop and conduct educational programs to keep teammates up-to-date on DaVita policies, new laws and regulations impacting work, and other information necessary to provide knowledgeable, accurate work output

Perform other duties as assigned or needed

Provide ongoing communication to teammates at all levels concerning DaVita programs impacting teammates (including but not limited to: Triple Crown, RN Scholarship, RN New Grad, We Are Here, Tuition Reimbursement, Foundations, etc.)

Able to work hours necessary with little or no notice; ability to travel as needed

Travel required: up to 50% (by personal car, train, and/or airplane)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred

Human Resources certification (PHR or SPHR) preferred

Current driver's license in state of residence and insurable driving record required

Minimum of 5 years' hands-on human resources experience as generalist or manager required

Minimum of 3 years' experience as human resources manager strongly preferred; experience in large (1000+) company preferred

Intermediate computer skills and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required; knowledge of PeopleSoft preferred.
