Data Engineer, Specialist (The Vanguard Group, Inc. / Malvern, PA) -- Troubleshoot and optimize new and existing ETL pipelines; analyze complex business problems, track down required information, document requirements, and develop technical solutions; provide advanced level IT technical lead services and direction for software, middleware, or hardware projects on a single platform; provide technical expertise and complete complex development, design, implementation, design specification, and maintenance activities; ensure viability of IT deliverables; recommend development options and conduct testing; perform potential solutions and may approve solutions proposed by team members; resolve complex issues uncovered by testers and internal clients; communicate with key stakeholders on project issues and implications; evaluate impacts of change requests on technologies; maintain current knowledge of IT development methodology, design, and technical standards; mentor IT staff with less experience and identify training needs; review and approve documentation and diagrams created by IT team members; write documentation, including technical standards and processes; identify opportunities for continuous quality improvement of technical standards, methodologies, and technologies; participate in design, code, and test inspections throughout product life cycle to contribute technical expertise and to identify issues; present technical status and issues at milestone reviews; utilize thorough understanding and compliance with Information Technology and Information Security policies and procedures and verify deliverables meet requirements. Requires Master's in Computer Science, Analytics, Mathematics, or closely related IT field and two years of experience in job offered or in IT position(s) including Software Developer; or Bachelor's and five years of experience. Background in education, training or experience must include AWS Services, ETL Pipelines, Hive, Spark, SQL, Kafka, Spark Streaming, Scala, Python, and Tableau. Company operates on hybrid model with three days in office and work-from-home available two days.
