Manulife Project Manager - Operations Transformation in Makati City, Philippines

The opportunity

This Project Manager will manage and coordinate business and technical projects of moderate and large scope and complexity through all phases of initiation, development and implementation. Support functional teams with ad hoc requests and analytical work.

Responsibilities:

  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.

  • Develop comprehensive project plans and manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocations.

  • Develop business case and coordinate fund sourcing

  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional project teams, ensuring roles and responsibilities are clear and team members are motivated.

  • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement effective mitigation strategies.

  • Conduct regular project status meetings and report on project progress to stakeholders and executive management.

  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget, maintaining high-quality standards.

  • Facilitate post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned and implement continuous improvement practices.

  • Manage stakeholder relationships by building trust, ensure clear communication, and align project objectives with stakeholder expectations. Act as the primary liaison, facilitating collaboration and resolving conflicts to ensure that stakeholder needs are met and project goals are achieved successfully.

Skill Set

  • Project Management Expertise: Mastery of methodologies such as Agile and Waterfall and other relevant project management principle

  • Tool Proficiency: Advanced use of project management software like Microsoft Project, Jira, Trello, or Asana or traditional project management plans

  • Risk Management: Ability to identify, assess, and mitigate project risks effectively.

  • Budgeting and Financial Acumen: Strong skills in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.

  • Resource Management: Expertise in optimal resource planning and allocation.

  • Stakeholder Management: Proficiency in engaging and managing diverse stakeholder expectations.

  • Change Management: Ability to facilitate smooth transitions and high adoption rates for new initiatives.

  • Quality Assurance: Skills in maintaining high standards and ensuring deliverables meet expectations.

  • Decision-Making: Ability to make informed, timely decisions to keep projects on track.

  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal skills for reporting, presentations, and facilitating meetings.

Experiences and Qualifications:

  • Project Management Experience: Extensive experience managing complex projects, preferably within operations transformation or a related field.

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, project management, or a related field. A master’s degree or MBA is a plus.

  • Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), or similar project management certifications.

  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with operations in the financial services sector, understanding of regulatory requirements and industry trends.

What we are looking for

  • At least three (3) years’ experience in life and health claims processing, insurance, or a related field

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, or a related field is preferred.

  • With industry certifications or exams passed (FLMI, etc.)
