Supports medium sized clients/customers and makes significant contributions to more complex projects under periodic supervision. General knowledge of the work function and Chevron’s practices.

In Finance, you will have the opportunity to grow your career in different functional groups such as Accounts Payable, Midstream Accounting, Bank, Revenue and Retail, Credits and Receivables, Intercompany, Financial Accounting and Reporting, Upstream Accounting and Business Analysis and Support.

Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Finance Analyst - Inventory and Product Costing located in Makati City, Philippines.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  1. Perform month-end closing activities like:
  • Prepare, monitor , and validate intercompany purchases of refined products .

  • Monitor in-transit shipment at month end and related gain/loss for in-transit plant .

  • Monitor non-stock holding (NSH) plants at month end to ensure zero balance or appropriate explanation on timing differences.

  • Validate the ending volumes in SAP and coordinate with Terminal personnel for the disposition of

  • v ariances .

  • Record accruals related to inventory such as stock on water and intercompany purchase accruals to eliminate intercompany imbalances at month end

  • Monitor reasonableness of Moving Average price (MAP) per material per plant and perform price

  • revaluation for material distortions .

  • Perform excise tax revaluation and assist w/ excise tax update as necessary .

  • Perform purchase price variance analysis and post adjustments .

  • Perform Exchange Reconciliation and Revaluation at month end to reflect latest MAP .

  • Perform Buy/Sell reconciliation and reclass at month end .

  • Facilitate back to back sale and posting in the system.

  • Perform material ledger closing .

  • Validate and execute GAAPSTAT entries .

  • Review CIRCA LIFO valuation reports, investigate CIRCA F orced L oss/ G ain s (FLGs) , provide commentaries on A verage A cquisition R ate (AAR) f luctuations, and answer build/draw questions as appropriate .

  • Perform month-end close task taps as required by the Regional MEC coordinators.

  • Answer Local Finance and regional reporting queries .

  • Perform volume reconciliation Materials Management (MM) vs. Financial Accounting (FI) Modules and CIRCA system .

  • Calculate Deferred Income Tax on the temporary difference between Statutory and Corporate

  • i nventory valuation and post entries in SAP .

  • Perform company-owned retail stations wetstock reconciliation .

  • Perform materials & supplies accounting .

  • Assist w/ LIFO forecasting and COGS analysis as required .

  • Assist w/ basic SAP materials movement errors troubleshooting and correction in the system.

    1. Prepare Reports such as:
  • Inventory Reports on balances, trends, and gains/losses

  • Prepare Commentaries template or Inventory Variance Analysis

  • Cost of Goods Sold

  • Purchase S ummary

  • Other reports required by the government and regional reporting

  • Consolidated Inventory Report – per material per plant

  • Metrics and Process Health Check reporting

    1. Perform accounts reconciliation for assigned GL accounts in accordance with FSS Accounts

    Reconciliation Standards

    1. Performs admin activities that may include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Participates fully in Finance Safety and Cybersecurity Programs.

  • Ensures process documentations are kept current or timely updated and that records archiving and

  • retention policy are adhered to.

  • Performs other tasks that may be assigned by the Team Leader.

  • Prepares and updates work plan as necessary and monitor self-performance to achieve performance

  • goals.

  • Aims for continuous self-development by participating in self-study courses, reading relevant

  • professional materials, attends functional training, interacting with industry counterparts, etc.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree major in Accountancy, Management Accounting, Accounting Technology and related courses.

  • Demonstrated experience and background in Finance, Accounting, and/or Audit work

  • Effective communicator and able to build relationships with various stakeholders and teams

  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Innovative and has passion for learning digital tools and technologies

  • Experience and knowledge in digital tools and other technology systems is an advantage
