R&D Senior Scientist Regional Baby Care
Implementing product innovation for Aveeno Baby & Johnsons Baby across Asia
This position reports into the Head of Regional Baby Care and is based in Mumbai, India. You will be part of an Asia-wide R&D organization, serving millions of consumers across multiple markets

The R&D Senior Scientist Baby Care is responsible for the implementation of innovation projects to support our Regional product pipeline for Baby Care: From Creams to Lotions, from Shampoos to Cleansers, you will have the opportunity to showcase your capability across our two iconic baby care brands - Aveeno Baby & Johnsons Baby
Your primary responsibility is to deploy product innovation combining Asian consumer insight with formulation expertise to assemble products that consumers love. Delivering high quality, safe, sustainable & efficacious products with exceptional consumer experience whilst ensuring formulas are ready for scale-up to production.
You will need to be a passion about products and science, combining requirements on product performance & quality, together with strong consumer insight. This will mean you working with our consumer scientists, packaging, analytical teams, quality & process development teams, so you need to be a strong communicator and ensure our innovations deliver On-Time-in-Full.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for delivering innovation projects for Aveeno Baby & Johnsons Baby
Develop development plans to ensure formulas are meet expectations and are robust and ready for scale-up.
Planning, executing and reporting laboratory trials managing ingredient and formulation documentation to high standards in Kenvue systems.
Understanding impact of ingredient & formula design on product performance (e.g. stability, rheology) and experience (e.g. sensory) and being able to adapt to meet required criteria.
Support Root Cause Analysis to address problems that may occur at any stage of the development process, from lab scale, through pilot plant and to production scale.
Create rigorous data sets and strong advice that allows business leaders to take data-based decisions.
Working as part of a multi-functional team as well as being able to manage your own workplan and run experimental programmes independently.
Participate & update on progress of work programme in cross-functional project teams (eg : R&D, Business and Supply Chain).
Participate and represent Regional Baby in Global product development and project forums.
To maintain a safe and healthy work environment that complies with the companys policies. - Working safely in our laboratory, handling materials and operating equipment
Qualifications
What we are looking for
Required Qualifications
A minimum of a Bachelor's or Master's degree with >2 years of proven experience is required, Chemistry / Chemical Engineering degrees preferred
Experience working in consumer goods sector personal care, homecare or foods; pharmaceuticals also considered.
Experience operating or within a laboratory with a passion to further development yourself in formulation science.
Being able to build strong interdependent partnerships internally in R&D and to broader cross-functional teams in Quality, Supply Chain and Factory Operations
As the role requires working with teams across Asia and with global partners you will need to have fluent written and oral English communication
Desired Qualifications
Additional experience across formulation, processing, claims, packaging & consumer science also welcomed.
A good technical foundation of formulated products including emulsions, surfactants, suspensions, structured liquids, an understanding of material chemistry.
Experience with building and delivering presentations to leadership to both inform and influence decision-making.
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with other departments and divisions within and outside Kenvue to achieve desired outcomes.
