We are looking for a leader who has the following: Commitment to building an inclusive and equity focused workplace, which includes engaged and effective teams Ability to problem solve and assist mechanics with difficult troubleshooting, including but not limited to diagnosing problems using computers Ability to effectively lead a large, diverse staff Ability to work independently, prioritize and organize This is an exciting full-time position in overseeing, directing and evaluating the activities of a group of workers engaged in the maintenance of transit vehicles and equipment. Metro has diesel and hybrid buses and a growing fleet of electric and articulated buses. The work also involves planning and maintaining work schedules in accordance with general instructions and established procedures. Employees in this class operate independently under the general supervision of the Transit Maintenance Managers. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Three (3) years combined experience in the following, with at least one (1) year being technical experience and at least one (1) year in a leadership role: Technical experience with heavy equipment, automotive repair/maintenance or scheduler, service writing, agricultural or other large equipment/parts or other similar technical experience; AND Leadership, supervisory and/or training experience involving the monitoring, guiding, coaching or scheduling of a group. This could be gained in an employment, volunteer or community setting.
