MADISON HUMAN RESOURCES Traffic Signal Maintenance Worker in MADISON, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: The Traffic Engineering Division is looking for their next Traffic Signal Maintenance Worker to assist with the installation and on-going maintenance of traffic devices with a goal of efficient movement of people, goods and traffic safely and efficiently within the Madison metropolitan region. This is technical and semi-skilled electrical construction work assisting higher level staff in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical, electronic, computer-based equipment associated with traffic signals, street lighting, fiber optic networking, and other City-maintained equipment and systems. Employees in this classification may perform less complex aspects of this work independently. Work may include performing traffic counts, repairing and maintaining related equipment, perform cable locating, and collecting and compiling data for computerized reports. Assignments are received by work order or general directive and are performed under general supervision. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: One (1) year of general electrical or electronic repair and relevant maintenance, electrical construction and/or installation work; OR Two (2) years of farm, automotive, or outdoor construction experience.
