JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: The Department of Planning and Landscape Architecture (DPLA) seeks a dynamic professional to join our team as a Teaching Assistant Professor. We are looking for a committed teacher/educator who is dedicated to promoting the full inclusion and participation of our diverse, multidisciplinary student body. This position will teach 18 credits over the course of the 12-month appointment. The 18 credits will combine studios of four-credits, with three-credit classes, (e.g., generally 2 studios per semester or 3 lecture courses per semester, or 1-2 studios in the fall and spring, and 1-2 three-credit summer courses, etc. as needed). The courses will be a combination of Landscape Architecture studio classes, undergraduate classes in the Landscape and Urban Studies program, and graduate classes in the MS in Landscape Architecture and/or the MS or PhD in Urban and Regional Planning programs. DPLA faculty expertise and interests include urban planning and design, land use policy, ecological restoration, and community food systems and health, resilience, and sustainability. We offer an undergraduate certificate in Collaborative Integrated Design, we support the joint UW-Madison/UW- Milwaukee undergraduate certificate in Architecture, and we offer two undergraduate degrees, a Landscape Architecture Accreditation Board-accredited BLA and a BS/BA in Landscape and Urban Studies; two master\'s degrees: a Planning Accreditation Board-accredited MS-URPL and a research- based MSLA with an option for ecological restoration specialization; and a PhD in Urban and Regional Planning.
