This position will run through candidate's graduation date and then will transfer into a benefit eligible; 0.8FTE or higher position. Please consider applying for this position when you are in your last semester of the Surgical Technologist program or within 3-4 months of graduation from the Surgical Technologist program.
The Surgical Technologist Student must be enrolled in an approved surgical technologist program . Under the guidance of a Surgical Technologist the student will perform as a member of surgical team providing technical patient care and hands-on expertise in the handling of surgical instruments and equipment during routine and urgent cases. With assistance they will assemble and prepare equipment, instruments, and supplies for all specialties using surgeon preference cards as a reference. Sets up and maintains sterile field while anticipating and responding to the surgeon’s intra-operative needs. Functions as 2nd assistant during surgical procedure.
