JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: This position performs professional sponsored project accounting activities for the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences (CALS) Administration, including CALS Research Division and the Wisconsin Agricultural Experiment Station (WAES) units. The post-award accountant position is a multifaceted role in which daily responsibilities are driven by activities and priorities that arise each day tied to the Rural Partnership Program. The position works with principal investigators, researchers, departments, and centers to monitor and reconcile spending for the Rural Partnership grant at the school/college/divisional level. The accountant serves as the liaison between departments and central campus business units to resolve financial challenges and assist with sponsored project post-award tasks and closeout activities. The selected candidate may interact directly with project sponsors related to detailed financial reporting, invoicing, and/or auditing on behalf of the unit to ensure compliance. The selected candidate will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to cultivate positive relationships.
