U W-MADISON DIV. CONTINUING STUDIES Neuropathologist Physician Scientist in MADISON, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: The University of Wisconsin-Madison (UW) is recruiting for an academic neuropathologist on the tenure track. The candidate will be appointed in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine with 5/8ths funding available from the William S. Middleton Veteran\'s Administration Hospital (VA). Candidates must be board certified in anatomic pathology or AP/CP as well as board eligible in neuropathology and qualified for unrestricted licensure for the practice of medicine in Wisconsin. Candidates will possess a record of scholarly achievement in the field of neurodegenerative disorders appropriate to the rank of Assistant/Associate/Full Professor (tenure track). The University of Wisconsin Medical Center is a tertiary care center with state of the art neuro-imaging, neurology and neurological surgery programs. The successful applicant will be expected to continue or develop a research program commensurate with a tenure track appointment in the area of neurodegenerative diseases, preferably in the area of neurobiology of Alzheimer\'s disease, and to mentor graduate students. The successful applicant will possess neuropathology clinical expertise in surgical pathology as well as autopsy pathology, contribute actively to the teaching of residents, fellows and medical students, mentor trainees, participate in continuing medical education programs and engage in scholarly research. Graduate student training opportunities are available in the department Cellular & Molecular Pathology program and the neuroscience training program. Due to the VA appointment, the successful candidate will be eligible for VA merit review grant funding. The successful candidate will dedicate significant effort to the NIA-funded Wisconsin Alzheimer\'s Disease Research Center (ADRC) and will lead the ADRC Neuropathology Core which provides numerous opportunities for collaboration.
