JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: Would you like to work at Wisconsin\'s public health laboratory protecting the public from radiological hazards? The radiochemistry unit at the Wisconsin State Laboratory of Hygiene (WSLH) is looking for a chemist to join our team! This chemist will be responsible for analyzing a variety of samples: water, soil, vegetation, milk, using different analytical methods to determine the radioactivity of the sample. This may include radioactivity analysis for: gross alpha and beta, radium, uranium, tritium, radon as well as other radionuclides. In addition, this position will be accountable for managing quality assurance tasks associated with the radiochemistry unit; this would include duties such as tracking standard operating procedure reviews, proficiency test results, facilitating internal audits and monitoring quality control metrics. After a year of employment at WSLH, the chemist may also have the opportunity to apply for a graduate certificate program in radiochemistry paid for by a national association (if selected to participate).
