Job Description:

APPOINTMENT: July 1, 2024

RESPONSIBILITIES: The assistant track and field coach is responsible for assisting the head coach with the conduct of practices and games, working on individual player development, supervising pre-season and conditioning programs, assisting with recruitment and contact of prospective student-athletes, promoting and maintaining positive public relations, helping to plan and conduct summer camps, plus other duties as assigned by the head coach. Successful candidate must be committed to the academic success of student-athletes and be committed to their personal growth and social development. Successful candidate must be fully committed to all NCAA, The Ohio Valley Conference, and Western Illinois University Athletics Department policies and procedures.

Requirements:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor\'s Degree

Experience as a collegiate track and field athlete or collegiate track and field coach.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Master\'s Degree

Collegiate coaching or playing experience at the NCCA DI or DII level.

For a degree to be considered, it must be conferred from a regionally accredited degree-granting institution of higher education (or equivalent from an international accrediting body). Unless otherwise stated, the degree must be conferred at the time of appointment.
