The Energy Systems Engineer (hereafter Systems Engineer) will be responsible for developing research projects and associated technology maturation plans, focused on growing GE Aerospace's design, test, and integration capabilities in Energy Systems. The Systems Engineer will work across teams and sites to collaborate effectively with customers, stakeholders, researchers, and supporting engineers.
The Systems Engineer will provide oversight on screening feasibility studies allowing down-select to a set of research projects/areas for execution. The Systems Engineer will be the focal and take lead on at least one of these research projects, ensuring customer/product alignment, and guiding the continued development of the technology maturation plan. The Systems Engineer will champion a technical focus on integration of Energy Systems within the existing engine/propulsor fuel-oil thermal management system. A strong background in thermal management systems, fluids, vapor compression systems, or gas turbine thermodynamic cycle modeling (Brayton cycle / performance) is desired. The Systems Engineer will be expected to communicate progress and strategy regularly with business leaders.

Roles and Responsibilities
Conducts component and product integration.
All activities that span multiple components and products and are concerned with how to integrate for maximum performance and operability.
Manages product and systems requirements, specifications and flow down.
Drives validation and verification activities for the overall product/system, including system level testing.
Responsible for defining product requirements for the module / component / subcontractors and partners teams.
Manages interface between components and execution organizations.Responsible for driving CTQ / Risk trades within the teams designing the components.
Developing specialized knowledge in their discipline.
Serves as best practice/quality resource.
Has awareness of latest technical developments in own area.
Contributes towards strategy and policy development and ensure delivery within area of responsibility.
Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how owned area integrated with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market.
Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
Minimum of 6 years of experience in Aerospace Engine Engineering Design and/or systems integration.
Desired Characteristics
Master's degree from an accredited university or college.

Exposure to commercial engine design or certification requirements.
