Amazon Sr. Risk Manager, Middle Mile WW, Transportation Risk & Compliance (TRC) in Luxembourg, Luxembourg

Amazon Transportation Services have built world-class Middle Mile operations globally, which rely on an exceptional pool of carriers who work relentlessly to meet our customers’ expectations. TRC is looking for a high-judgment individual to join us as a Senior Risk Manager, responsible for governing and optimizing worldwide internal processes, helping promoting the TRC brand, while safeguarding the health of the organization, ultimately driving a culture of compliance both internally and externally.

We are looking for an individual with strong Project and Program Management experience, who can apply their expertise to become the global Single Threaded Leader for TRC MM for 1) governing the organization’s personnel health, liaising with key partners in Finance and internal TRC teams, 2) tracking and reporting target and goal progression to senior management, 3) driving org-wide time studies to identify staff allocation and procedure improvements to drive carrier compliance, and 4) writing compelling narratives that effectively represent org health standing, carrier compliance status, and commitment progress (against pre-defined goals and targets) to both business partners and senior management. The successful candidate will have exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, outstanding attention to details and organization skills, strong data-driven mindset and capabilities, but also excellent soft skills for peer and stakeholder management, including influencing without authority. Finally, the successful candidate will display good team spirit and autonomy, especially since the team is meeting mostly virtually due to geographical constraints.

Key job responsibilities

• Define, streamline, and track resource needs, and singlehandedly manage corresponding org goals

• Drive global time studies that allow identification of staff allocation and process opportunities, Assess, optimize, standardize, and streamline audit and monitoring processes, with an emphasis on automation and/or worldwide parity wherever possible

• Coordinate with Field Ops and Field Ops Excellence leaders WW – across Middle Mile and Last Mile – on org health initiatives and drive implementation

• Liaise with key partners (e.g., Finance, Legal) to improve the health of the organization, and thereby help drive carriers’ compliance

• Meet individual and team goals with the highest standards and diligence

• Lead and/or participate in special projects and/or assignments as necessary

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree

• Minimum 5 years of project / program management experience

• Outstanding English communication skills, both written and verbal

• Exceptional attention to detail with a problem-solving mindset

• Proven ability to coordinate across teams and orgs, and influence without authority

• Excellent knowledge of Office tools (e.g., Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

• Compliance and risk management experience

• Working knowledge of local transport and contractual laws and regulations

• Continuous process improvement experience

• Fluency in at least one other European language: French, Spanish, Italian, Polish, German, or Romanian
