Major/Essential Functions:

Position is responsible for heritage management operations at the Lubbock Lake Landmark, a 336-acre archaeological and natural history preserve that is a unit of the Museum of Texas Tech University. Employee performs skilled mechanical and/or analytical duties in the coordination and completion of projects. Employee performs under general guidelines using established procedures and is evaluated on results obtained. Involves work in all types of weather in compliance with the principles of heritage management. Requires the use of light equipment including chainsaws and lawn maintenance equipment. Requires the use of heavy equipment such as tractors and skidsteers. Duties will include a variety of land management activities such as clearing brush and trees and some construction. Position may require a variety of activities that support other functions at the Landmark including public programming and research. Applicant may be asked to supervise student assistants, community service workers and interact with the public. Other duties as assigned by the Manager of Site Operations, Historic Maintenance Supervisor, or Director, Lubbock Lake Landmark.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience using heavy equipment, and/or construction and building experience. Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline.
