Job Description Summary
The Senior Engineering Manager - Technical Regulation & Standards role leads the engineering organization for Regulation and Standards across Onshore & Offshore Wind Turbine design. This leader is a key focal point internally and externally to government & industry standards and regulation. This leader also owns full strategy for external interfacing with industry standard setting and committee involvement.

Roles and Responsibilities
Reviews and understands the applicable standards required by Law in country that apply to the relevant products.
Communicates standards to the design community and maintains it.
May also participate with independent third parties to perform product compliance and certification work (testing, design review etc.) and communicates results/actions to the relevant engineering and supply chain team.
Interacts with outside engineering firms or governmental agencies to provide or record product compliance to required regional or national standards to gain the needed product certification or qualification.
Manages a small to medium team of senior professionals as well as others.
Requires specialized knowledge within the function.
Influence the development of strategy for the area of responsibility, including control of resources and influences policy formulation.
Interprets simple internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services.
Stays informed of industry trends that may inform work.
Uses high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems in areas of operational, product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Has ability to assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders.
Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and is able to construct and provide recommendations. Uses multiple internal and some external sources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university
Minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience in the areas of engineering standards and technical regulation
Desired Characteristics
Master's degree from an accredited university or college
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects.
Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
Established project management skills.
