Technical assistant - Transportation

Job description

The Technical Assistant occupies a crucial position in providing administrative support to a team of Property and Casualty insurance brokers. His/Her main duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Master the concept of billing

  • Master the financing process, follow it up and request reimbursement cheques from policyholders and/or financing, where applicable.

  • Follows up on activities

  • Responds to various insurance confirmation requests (certificate, creditor, landlords)

  • Master clerical tasks (page layout, preparation of presentations, table of contents, binders)

  • Answering phones

  • Distribution of mail

  • Proficient in computer software (EPIC, Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)

  • Issues certificates according to instructions and forwards them to the appropriate people

  • Sets priorities according to deadlines

  • Respect the pace and needs of other team members

  • Accomplishes accurate and precise work

Job requirements

Technical skills

  • Degree in office automation, secretarial studies or equivalent.

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Word and Excel).

Personal skills

  • Attention to detail

  • Accuracy and meticulousness

  • Ability to analyze protection

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize

  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

  • Demonstrate good team spirit.

Complementary skills

  • Knowledge of EPIC software, an asset;

  • Paperless environment, an asset;

  • Knowledge of the insurance industry, an asset.

Department Office Administration & Clerical

Required Experience: 2-5 years of relevant experience

Required Travel: No Travel Required

Required Education: College diploma (3-year degree)
