CNC Maintenance Electrician $30-38/hr

Job Description

The electrical maintenance technician will work independently to perform maintenance, repair, and/or modification of the plant’s computer-driven control systems. The role involves fabrication, application, installation, and repair of mechanical and electromechanical equipment, including the installation of electrical conduit and machine building wiring. This position is primarily focused on electrical tasks but may also involve assisting with mechanical problems or two-person jobs when necessary. The technician will spend 90% of their time on the floor troubleshooting and repairing equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, repair, and modification of computer-driven control systems.

  • Fabricate, apply, install, and repair mechanical and electromechanical equipment.

  • Install electrical conduit and machine building wiring.

  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment on the floor 90% of the time.

  • Assist with mechanical problems or two-person jobs as needed.

  • Identify root causes of issues and troubleshoot accordingly.

  • Perform scheduled maintenance and repairs of equipment, including equipment moves and installation of both electrical and pneumatic aspects.

  • Work on continuous improvements of machinery to optimize efficiency and reduce downtime.

  • Update the maintenance work order system, including creating PMs, adding and removing equipment and parts, and assigning work orders and projects.

Essential Skills

  • Electrical troubleshooting and repair of CNC machinery

  • PLC troubleshooting

  • Maintenance technician experience

  • Preventive maintenance

  • Reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics

  • Knowledge of NEC and NFPA codes

  • Hands-on experience with explosion-proof and intrinsically safe work environments

  • Understanding of pneumatics and hydraulics

  • Mechanical repair skills

  • Experience with CNC maintenance, particularly with Mazak machines

  • 480 Volt electrical systems

Work Environment

This is a 2nd shift position with hours from 1pm to 11pm, Monday to Thursday, and an 8-hour shift on Friday. The role primarily involves working with CNC machines, particularly Mazak machines, and requires the ability to identify root causes of issues and troubleshoot effectively.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $40.00/hr.
