VCA Animal Hospitals Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS) - Anesthesia ($2000 Signing Bonus) in Loveland, Colorado

VCA Veterinary Specialists of Northern Colorado is seeking a Veterinary Technician Specialist in Anesthesia and Analgesia to support our surgery, neurology, internal medicine and critical care departments at our AAHA-accredited, 24-hour emergency/specialty referral practice located in Loveland, Colorado. We are a well-established and growing specialty referral hospital serving communities in Colorado, Nebraska, Wyoming, and Kansas since 2000. VSNC is fully equipped to receive any small animal veterinary patient needing emergency care.

• Compensation: $ 27-32/hr., dependent on education, experience, credentials, schedule and additional responsibilities.

Position Requirements include, but are not limited to:

VTS Credentials

Must be Registered Veterinary Technician in the State of Colorado

Familiarity with commonly utilized anesthetic monitoring devices and ventilators and how to troubleshoot issues with equipment malfunction.

Perform Anesthetic monitoring including intubation/extubation of patients, monitoring patients, and troubleshooting machines

Accurately obtain multiple types of radiographs throughout the pre and post-operative process; hands-free experience preferred but not required.

Be familiar with sterile technique and the preparation of surgical patients with an understanding and comprehension of commonly performed procedures and surgical instrumentation.

Train newly hired technicians as well as current technicians seeking to broaden or improve their skills in anesthesia and analgesia

Assist with anesthesia planning and have comfort with troubleshooting complications

Provide support to veterinarians and assist in other departments as requested

Triage and perform lifesaving procedures (CPR) when necessary

Maintain complete and accurate patient medical records

Obtain and prepare various blood samples for diagnostic testing

Running and assisting anesthesia cases for multiple departments

Knowledge of normal patient vitals for awake, sedated and anesthetized patients

Compassionate care of our patients
