This is an exciting role in the Jack Henry Payments division that’s geared towards building the newest online bill pay solutions of choice. We’re seeking a strong advocate of Agile software development as the means for delivering high-quality customer experiences and thrives in a culture of continuous learning. You will contribute to products that are used by millions of people. Our ideal candidate demonstrates the ability to think quickly and serves as part of a collaborative team solving complex and engaging problems for the user. They approach problems with a ‘beginner’s mind’ and an absence of bias when thinking through solutions. They should have a strong innovative spirit, with a history of demonstrating how they’re nimble, forward-thinking, and always asking ‘What if?’ when approaching problems. This role is embedded within an agile development team and provides UI/UX design expertise and support. This is a high-impact position that includes conceptualizing user experience flows with stakeholders and providing beautiful and thoughtful designs that the developer's code to our products.
Our team is distributed, which means you can live and work anywhere within the US. You will need to work standard Eastern Time business hours for optimal collaboration with team members.
What you’ll be responsible for:
Collaborating with product owners, fellow designers, and developers to design product features through
Creating high-fidelity interactive UI prototypes using Adobe XD
Delivering specific product features from start to finish, while being open to constructive feedback.
Managing multiple projects at one time.
Recommending product improvements (both small and larger scale).
Continuously learning and researching design trends as the design field rapidly evolves.
Ensuring designs are aligned with standards regarding web accessibility within our products.
Pair/mob programming with agile team members to support front-end development and advocate design standards during this process. Provide constructive feedback.
Participating in customer feedback sessions regarding new and existing features.
May perform other job duties as assigned.
What you’ll need to have:
Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in UI/UX design.
Experience with user interface design for web applications, and mobile/touch devices.
Experience with industry-standard design and prototyping tools: Figma, Sketch, and Adobe XD programs.
Ability to quickly grasp technical concepts and constraints while quickly designing thoughtful solutions.
Experience being organized, efficient, and able to manage complex projects in a timely manner.
Experience working with a team that has shipped products.
Strong attention to detail
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Must have a portfolio link on your resume, or a combined resume and portfolio PDF to be considered for the position. If your portfolio is password protected, the password must be provided.
Must be able to work standard Eastern Time zone business hours.
What would be nice for you to have:
Experience leveraging standardized design systems that promote consistency across applications.
Experience conducting research and usability studies.
Experience with user-centered design through collaboration with front-end developers early in the software development process.
Experience in payments/financial industry.
Experience in Agile/Scrum software development.
