Genentech, Inc. Senior IT Program Manager in Louisville, Kentucky

Duties: Plan and coordinate aspects of system-specific projects in the area of pharmaceutical informatics from initiation to project close, continuously focusing the team on the value to be delivered. Responsible for delivery of solutions. Define project requirements and perform feasibility and needs/impact assessments. Develop project plans and assist with and/or manage implementation processes for on-time delivery within budget constraints. Engage with Leadership, both business and IT, to collaborate on the delivery of value through an Agile Release Train (“ART”) at a sustainable rate. Manage and optimize the flow of value by improving and assessing the practices associated with DevOps and Release on Demand in the Continuous Delivery Pipeline. Facilitate the formation of teams to ensure optimal delivery of business capabilities and value. Facilitate periodic synchronization events, including the Agile Release Train sync (Scrum of Scrums, Product Owner sync, System demo). Work with Product Management, Product Owners, and other stakeholders to help ensure strategy and execution alignment. Establish and enable project communication channels and key metrics providing progress updates, decisions, risks and other data needed to keep stakeholders informed on value delivery. Track metrics and manage project finance/budget. Responsible for Program Increment planning and management. Establish program and project governance structures as needed in support of SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) model to deliver project outcomes most efficiently and effectively. Collaborate with the organizational change management (“OCM”) team to enable effective and timely OCM activities. Drive IT process continuous improvements, manage risks, and escalate issues when appropriate. Coach leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters in Lean-Agile practices and mindsets, including DevOps and CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery). May telecommute up to 2 days per week. 20% international and domestic travel, fully reimbursed. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field and 7 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience as an IT Project or Program Manager, Technical Lead, or related role. Position requires the following: Must have: Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) certification for Release Train Engineer. Must have 5 years of experience with the following: 1) Managing and optimizing flow of value through ART (Agile Release Train); 2) Improve flow of value through value streams using DevOps practices and released on demand in the Continuous Delivery pipeline; 3) PI (Program Increment) planning; 4) Project management, including stakeholder management, change management, risk mitigation, KPIs, tracking metrics, and financials; 5) Use Agile methodology, including Jira or Kanban, sprint planning, release planning, daily Scrum, and retrospection. The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location for this position of Kentucky is $140,304 to $167,300 per year. Actual pay within the range will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
