Job Description:
Baptist Health Medical Group is looking for a Regional Clinical Educator - Safety and Education to join their team in Elizabethtown, KY. This role will be a hybrid role that requires local/regional travel.
Regional Clinical Educators provide strategic clinical guidance to Directors of Operations, practice managers, and clinical staff in handling clinical safety and education needs for a Region of BHMG clinics. This includes, but is not limited to, training, validations, competencies, education, safety assessments, and ongoing performance documentation at all clinic sites.
The Regional Clinical Educator is responsible for promoting patient care excellence and safety through clinical leadership, consultation, education, safety, and research benefiting staff and patients. Assesses safety and educational needs through a variety of methods, both formal and informal, including patterns and trends to aid in the development of assessments, orientation, precepting, and continuing education.
Essential Functions:
- Provides clinical guidance to Directors of Operations, practice managers, and clinical staff during onboarding of new and acquired practices regarding safety, infection control, and BHMG safety assessments.
- Partners with Operations, Risk, System Infection Control, and HR regarding reporting and mitigation surrounding inconsistencies with OSHA, CLIA, CDC, and BHMG safety and infection control policies and procedures.
- Conduct training, orientation, and skills competencies for staff regarding OSHA, CLIA, and CDC guidelines as well as BHMG safety and infection control policies and procedures.
- Assists BHMG Education Department with training, orientation, and skills competencies for all new clinical hires as well as current clinical staff.
- Maintains and updates all safety education materials and is also responsible for communicating updates as needed to staff.
- Maintains database for tracking completion of safety assessments for communication with Operations and Risk Management.
- Obtains and maintains Rural Health certification. Supports BHMG Rural Health clinics as the point person for policies and procedures, OIG inspection, emergency action plan, and other clinical items necessary to maintain Rural Health designation.
- Operationalize BHMG 141 point safety assessment program.
Qualifications:
- Must be Medical Assistant, LPN, or RN. Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 5+ years of ambulatory clinic experience with progressively responsible positions/job responsibilities required
- Experience with OSHA, CLIA, ICRA, Infection Control, and/or other healthcare specific safety experience required
- Proficient knowledge of Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint and other means of presentation of materials required
- Basic Life Support and other advanced training as appropriate
