Mental Health Associate – Transitional Living - PRN

The Brook Hospital-KMI is currently seeking Mental Health Associates to work with our Men's Trasitional Lving House. This is a specialized 12 bed program for those with Substance Use Disorders.

PRN rate is $17.00 hourly ( shift differential offered 7.5% for second shift and 12% for third shift)

Shifts needed are mostly weekend shifts but some are needed during the week to assist with vacation coverage.

Hours will vary based on facility needs.

shifts are 8 hour shifts but can pick up doubles

7a-3p, 3p-11p, 11p-7a

Mental Health Associate

Serves as an active member of the clinical staff; maintains a therapeutic relationship with all patients; assists in maintenance of a safe, clean, therapeutic environment; assures patient participation in program activities; and performs technical/patient care duties relative to patient’s health and safety.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Drives group in a passenger van to offsite AA meetings as needed

  • Assists with groups with focus on Recovery focused topics

  • Performs safety checks and patient observation rounds per guidelines

  • Assists mutidisciplinary team to ensure patient safety

Qualifications

  • Education – High School diploma or GED required. Some college preferred.

  • Drivers license with excellent driving record to drive a passenger van

  • Years of experience needed – Direct patient care experience in a behavioral health setting is preferred.

  • Certifications – Must maintain current CPR and first aid certification ( we will provide )

  • Computer skills – Ability to: gain training through web-based programs; participate in employee surveys;

  • Communication – Must possess excellent verbal skills in communicating with patients, coworkers and visitors.

  • Team work – Must be able to work with a mutidisciplinary team to ensure patient safety

  • Service Excellence – Consistently demonstrates all Service Excellence Standards.
