Robert Half Staff Accountant in Los Angeles, California
Description If you're looking to build your career in accounting, there's currently a Staff Accountant position through Robert Half that you may want to check out. Located in the Los Angeles, California area, this short-term contract / temporary to hire position is an engaging, multi-faceted opportunity where hard work is rewarded. In this role, the Staff Accountant is in charge of preparing monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. Be prepared to dedicate a fair amount of time to producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Many aspects of internal reporting will be your responsibility during the monthly close. You will also communicate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, play an active role in compliance, and review schedules for the reporting processes.
Responsibilities
Maintain fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Partake in annual closing processes
Organize capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Be a part of various initiatives spanning multiple departments
Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed
Oversee the creation of monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for reporting to management
Offer descriptions of a large number of financial data and communicate insights in a useful and understandable manner
Be responsible for account reconciliations including prepaid expenses, payroll, and other assignments
Support implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Complete month end close, journal entries, without supervision Requirements - Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines
Current and relevant ERP system experience
Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
Sharp, analytical thinking abilities, always seeking to draw connections and identify the "why"
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Balance Sheet Reconciliation experience preferred
Proficiency in Blackbaud
Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT experience
Month end closings experience
Adeptness in grant accounting
Comprehensive knowledge of Financial Edge
2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
