Position Summary:
The Staff Accountant, Accounts Receivable at LACI will play an essential role in the financial management of the organization. This role will be responsible for the performance and maintenance of our accounts receivable function and manage grant billing and receivables, in accordance with GAAP, the Uniform Guidance and all requirements applicable to 501(c)(3) organizations. Reporting to Director of Accounting, this role will also support the accounts receivable function, maintain the department record keeping system, and assist with additional departmental projects and research.
What You’ll Do:
Donor / Funder Onboarding : Onboard new donors/funders to LACI’s accounting and merchant processing systems, ensuring sufficient information and donor intents are collected in accordance with GAAP Revenue Recognition standards and other applicable requirements
Accounts Receivable / Invoice Processing: Prepare Invoices / Payment Pages for LACI’s customers, donors, and funders to request payments and collect outstanding pledges using LACI or grant defined invoicing templates
Accounts Receivable Collections: Monitor Accounts Receivable Aging Schedules and follow up with the appropriate counterparty contacts to collect outstanding receivables and identify potential uncollectable bad debts
Donor/Funder Support: Monitor counterparty billing communications to ensure donors/funder/and customer questions are responded to timely, to ensure requirements for payment are met
Bank Reconciliations: Reconcile cash accounts monthly, including bank and investment accounts to ensure all cash receipts and disbursements are accurately recorded. Investigate and resolve discrepancies between general ledger and bank activity, collaborating with other departments when necessary.

Requirements:
Basically, we want to know you can get the job done. This means you have:
2-3 years experience in an Accounts Receivable/Bookkeeping Role
Knowledge of accounts receivable demonstrated through post-secondary degree in Accounting/Finance or relevant experience
Strong knowledge of QuickBooks Online or similar accounting systems
Strong proficiency in MS Excel and Google Sheets.

Not for profit accounting expertise/experience strongly preferred
Experience and interest in modern accounting automation tools and processes
Flexible, detail oriented self-starter with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with limited supervision and within a team
Ability to maintain discretion when handling sensitive financial information
Work Requirements
Must work onsite from Downtown LA office 3 days/week
Position Details:
This is a full-time position, starting immediately. LACI operates out of the La Kretz Innovation Campus, in the bustling Downtown LA Arts District. Since we are rapidly growing, you will be getting in on the ground floor at LACI, with the opportunity to evolve with us and shape your future here.
Salary Range: Coordinator Range $50-62k commensurate with experience, education, skills, etc and total compensation package including health benefits, 401k match, professional development, commuter benefits and more.
