Insight Global Site Safety Officer in Los Angeles, California
Job Description
An employer looking to hire a Site Safety Officer is located in Southern California. This SSO will be supporting the overall purpose of the FERP (Federal Energy Retrofit Program). This program will be dedicated to providing the Navy/Government with turn-key design, engineering, construction, and project management services, inclusive of associated environmental requirements. The Safety Officer will act as a liaison between the Government and subcontractors. Daily on-site responsibilities include quality control, safety, construction oversight and project coordination. This position is the primary person responsible for quality control on a day-today "production" level. The person will be responsible for all safety activities, running tailgate meetings, providing support on pre-construction documentation, reviewing plans and specs and ensuring overall safety and health of the project. The project will encompass the building and installation of a wind turbine for the Navy. This position will start remotely for pre-construction activities until construction kicks off in July requiring this person to commute to San Clemente Island working 8/10 schedule (10 hours per day for 8 days with 6 days off). The company is providing full expense coverage on overnight stay, gas mileage and any travel involved. This position is looking to pay between ($50-60/hr).

Skills and Requirements
Obtained OSHA 30, EM385-1-1, CPR Training (at least 24 hours of formal life safety, first aid) and Fall Protection Certifcation
Previously supported a federal installation project, supporting the prime working with subcontractors
Accident Prevention Program (APP) experience, Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA) documentation, identifying potential onsite risks, corrective action
Running tailgate meetings, creating daily reports, and developing safety plans/programs
Good communication skills - Previous Government Utility Installation Safety Support
Experience with the Navy/DOD
Experience working on San Clemente Island
Ability to obtain a Navy DBIDS/Metro Pass. null
