The opportunity
We are seeking a forward-thinking Manager Consultant for SAP S/4HANA Upgrades (RISE Migration & Conversion) to join our Technology Consulting team. In this role, you will collaborate with external clients and internal teams, leveraging your strong proficiency in SAP technology to help clients achieve improved outcomes and lasting results. By harnessing our expertise in tax, assurance, transaction and risk, and by utilizing your capabilities in SAP implementations, you will drive innovative solutions.
Your key responsibilities
As a Manager Consultant in our SAP Financial Services practice, you will lead and manage the S/4HANA Upgrade (RISE Migration & Conversion) workstream team throughout the SAP implementation cycle. You will play a crucial role in delivering SAP system and business integration, including interfacing with key client stakeholders. You will be responsible for producing cohesive and comprehensive deliverables on-time and within budget, ensuring the utmost satisfaction of our clients.
Client-facing responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Client Engagement: Collaborate with clients to understand their business needs and objectives, providing expert guidance on S/4HANA Upgrade (Migration & Conversion) capabilities.
Workshops Support: Lead requirement-gathering workshops to elicit detailed architecture and technical requirements
Technical Design Oversight: Manage the design and documentation of S/4HANA platform, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and client specifications. This includes experience with maintenance planner for generating stack XML files, migration approaches, and detailed architecture transitions from older ERP systems to RISE with SAP, as well as client strategy and integration documentation.
Build & Unit Testing: Oversee technical teams in building SAP S/4 HANA systems and conduct smoke testing to ensure infrastructure meets business requirements.
Integration Testing: Define the scope and priorities for integration testing phases to validate end-to-end process flows and ensure seamless interactions between the SAP S/4HANA platform and other SAP/non-SAP systems.
User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Support: Establish the scope and priorities for UAT, assisting clients in validating the system against their requirements and addressing any arising issues.
Deployment & Go-Live Support: Oversee the deployment of SAP S/4HANA application, ensuring successful implementation and transition to operational status.
EY internal responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Business Development Support: Assist EY leadership in creating sales materials and proposals to expand EY’s SAP practice.
Practice Development Enhancement: Collaborate with EY teams to develop and enhance internal assets and demos that support the growth of our SAP practice.
Team Development Initiatives: Foster inter-EY relationships to support the development of junior team members and cultivate the next generation of SAP technology professionals.

To qualify for the role, you must have
A Bachelor’s degree
Over 8 years of SAP BASIS experience and 5+ years in SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA upgrades, with at least 3 full lifecycle upgrades or migrations
Experience in SAP S/4HANA migration, cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP), and RISE with SAP implementation
Implementation experience in end-to-end Fiori deployment
Technical Integration experience with upstream and downstream tools (e.g., ADP, SAC, Analysis for office, Concur, ServiceNow, Vertex)
Strong expertise in SAP Basis, HANA database administration, and cloud architecture
Knowledge of SAP Activate methodology and best practices for cloud migrations
Experience with tools such as SAP Quick Sizer, SAP Cloud ALM, SUM, DMO, and other SAP migration tools
Experience in SAP S/4HANA and HANA DB security, roles, and authorizations
A flexibility and willingness to travel to meet client needs; travel is estimated at 40-60%
Ideally, you’ll also have
SAP certification(s) related to S/4HANA and S/4HANA Upgrade for cloud migration
Project implementation experience with both Activity-Based COI and Rules-Based COI
Experience in ERP migration to RISE with SAP
Ove 4 years of relevant experience in the Financial Services industry (Banking/Insurance)
Basic knowledge of ABAP development, reporting solutions and integration tools with SAP S/4HANA
Extensive exposure to requirements gathering, fit-gap analysis, and solution design in S/4HANA Upgrade implementations
A post-graduate or graduate degree in computer science, engineering, accounting, finance or a related field
Experience in quality assurance activities including quality reviews and providing feedback on documentation

What we offer
We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $141,200 to $258,900. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $169,500 to $294,300. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
