Eaton Corporation Purchasing Manager in Los Angeles, California

Eaton’s IS AER FMC division is currently seeking a Purchasing Manager. This role is based at our Los Angeles, CA facility.​

With 250 employees, the Los Angeles facility designs and manufactures quality valves, regulators, and other fluid controls used mostly by the Aerospace Industry.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $120750.03 - $177100.04 a year.

This position is responsible for managing and developing a dynamic team of purchasing professionals. The Purchasing Manager is responsible for establishing and maintaining measurable performance metrics for all levels of procurement activities to include but not limited to supplier performance, supplier quality, internal order placement performance, buyer performance, and financial (AP) performance.

What you’ll do:

  • Report to management the measurable status of progress and corrective actions as it pertains to supplier performance.

  • Ensure performance improvement and recovery plans are developed, issued, tracked, and reported on as required for supply base management and improvement.

  • Negotiate and execute contracts as needed to support the critical business needs.

  • Strategically develop and implement supply chain strategies covering to deliver best total value, leverage, and standardization.

  • Support creation, implementation, and maintenance of sourcing strategies in tandem with Global Commodity Team.

  • Lead supplier performance improvement initiatives to increase supply chain efficiencies, reduce the total cost of supply chain management, and enhance material availability.

  • Manage and improve supplier relationships.

  • Provide commodity support to New Program Teams as required to meet Target Costs and establish Program cost models.

  • Manage materials savings and Purchased Price Variance (PPV) initiatives in line with profit plan and overall business needs. Monitor/report on process improvement and cost-out projects across enterprise.

  • Create and develop a high-performing team while being comfortable with holding others accountable.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

  • Minimum of three (3) years purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Minimum one (1) year of experience leading a team.

  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee

  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within 60 miles of the Los Angeles, CA facility will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain/operations, business administration, economics, mathematics, or engineering from an accredited institution

  • Masters in business administration (MBA).

  • Minimum of five (5) years in metal fabrication, purchasing, or materials management positions in an Aerospace or Operations environment

  • Minimum of two (2) years managerial experience

  • APICS certification.
