JOB SUMMARY AND PURPOSE
Reporting to the HR Executive Director, the Legal Assistant II HR will be responsible for a providing legal administrative support in Human Resources; primarily in providing in labor and employment matters, audits for legal compliance, ensuring compliance with relevant human resource laws, and in navigating complex legal issues at the direction of the HR Executive Director. This includes, but is not limited to, assisting the HR Executive Director in the processing of legal matters, drafting and preparing documents, coordinating with outside counsel as directed, and organizing and maintaining files and records.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide support for the legal issues
Manage and coordinate databases, case files, correspondence files timely, accurately, and extensively.
Conduct audits for legal matters on employment issues
Prepare reports and documentation as directed and required for legal matters
Participate in employment legal compliance matters
Engage in special projects and other duties as assigned
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to pass a fingerprint clearance, background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications
EDUCATION:
- Associate-s Degree
EXPERIENCE:
- Two years- Legal support experience in a law firm, HR department or non-profit organization
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor-s Degree or Paralegal Certificate
Experience working in-house on employment issues at a non-profit organization strongly preferred
