Providence Government Affairs Officer *Hybrid* in Los Angeles, California

Description

**Government Affairs Officer *Hybrid

  • Travel between locations in Los Angeles, Orange and San Bernadino Counties will be required.**

The Government Affairs Officer is responsible for leading local public affairs and supporting the execution of state and federal advocacy programs for Providence St. Joseph Health (PSJH) and its affiliates across its Southern California footprint – Los Angeles, Orange and San Bernardino counties. This includes identifying, communicating with and executing public affairs and advocacy efforts with external and internal stakeholders, and managing systems and structures of the Government Affairs team. This position will also provide strategic counsel to internal and external audiences on priority policy issues consistent with PSJH's policy priorities. Travel between locations in Los Angeles, Orange and San Bernadino Counties will be required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree Public Policy, Political Science, Business, Communications, Government, or Health Administration.

  • 6+ years of work experience in legislative or regulatory activities, health administration or legal research; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience in governmental processes and governmental relations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experienced in direct advocacy and relationship building on behalf of an organization – both internal and external.

  • Strong understanding of the local legislative and regulatory processes within Los Angeles, Orange and San Bernardino counties.

  • Established relationships with policy makers at all levels of government within Los Angeles, Orange and San Bernardino counties.

  • Able to work in highly productive, fast-paced, evolving healthcare environment; ease working in a highly complex and matrixed environment.

  • Able to travel frequently within Southern California, including Los Angeles, Orange and San Bernardino counties.

Salary Range by Location:

California: All Southern California - Except Bakersfield: Min: $68.62, Max: $108.34

California: Bakersfield: Min: $65.83, Max: $103.93
