As a part of the New Employee Training and Workforce Development group you will be able to apply your skills to develop and implement new processes, programs and initiatives to benefit all Associate Laboratory Directorate for Weapons Production (ALDWP) new hires and NET Academy participants. You will report to either the New Employee Training (NET) Onboarding and Workforce Development First Line Manager or the NET Academy First Line Manager and will work closely with the NET Team to accomplish tasks.
This position 'may' be required to support 24/7 operations with an adjusted schedule.
Day-to-day duties include supporting both small and large projects within onboarding and initial training efforts, including but not limited to data entry, logistics, program execution, customer service, and inter-organization collaboration that support mission-critical functions. Successful candidates will support a highly interactive and cooperative environment as a NET Navigator supporting in one or more of the following areas:
ALDWP Onboarding
NET Academy Training
NET Academy Logistics
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Learning Management System Administration (issuing credit, managing course registration, course management, running reports)
Provide navigational guidance to a cohort of individuals, including getting to know LANL, following program schedule, and addressing basic new hire questions
Training Program implementation, administration, coordination, and planning
Identify and implement process improvements

Minimum Job Requirements:
Operational Functions:
Basic knowledge of business activities in an operational environment, including familiarity with one or more of the following: formality of operations, compliance practices, configuration management, training and qualification, and feedback and improvement.
Computer Skills/Business Systems:
Knowledge of business and operations systems and standard software applications (i.e., Microsoft and Adobe products). Ability to quickly learn and adapt to use of LANL business systems (i.e., Oracle, UTrain, etc.). Ability to effectively manage multiple, complex and overlapping calendars.
Critical Thinking:
Entry-level experience in conducting research, investigating alternative solutions, and recommending solutions on problems affecting facility operations and operational quality assurance.
Communication:
Basic ability to conceptualize and communicate program requirements and detailed elements to both technical and non-technical personnel. Demonstrated skill with interpersonal, written, and verbal communications.
Customer Service:
Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to provide clear, concise support and guidance to others in sometimes stressful situations. Ability to interact professionally with all types of personnel, including external interfaces and executive management.
Education and Experience:
Position requires an associate's degree from an accredited institution and 2 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.

Work Location: The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.
Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee has not served the time required, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of their Division Leader. The position commitment for this position is 1 year.

Additional Details
Directive 206.2 - Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2. Please note that this requirement applies only to citizens of the United States. Foreign nationals are subject to a similar requirement under DOE Order 142.3A.
Clearance: Q (Position will be cleared to this level). Selected applicants will be subject to a background investigation conducted by or on behalf of the Federal Government, and must meet eligibility requirements* for access to classified matter. This position requires a Q clearance. and obtaining such clearance requires US Citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances. Dependent upon the position, additional authorization to access classified information may be required, which may or may not be available to dual citizens. Receipt of a Q clearance and additional access authorization ultimately is a decision of the Federal Government and not of Triad.
*Eligibility requirements: To obtain a clearance, an individual must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.
New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law. A positive drug test for marijuana will result in termination of employment, even if the use was pre-offer.
Regular position: Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status.
Internal Applicants: Regular appointment employees who have served the required period of continuous service in their current position are eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee has not served the required period of continuous service, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of their Division Leader.
