Reporting to the Group Leader for Compensation within the Human Resources Division, the Compensation Analyst 3 (senior-level), will assist with a wide-range of issues in creative ways. Specific tasks will include conducting analyses and market research; designing, implementing, and administrating compensation strategies; and communicating initiatives to educate managers and employees on compensation programs and processes. What You Need

Minimum Job Requirements:

Compensation Analyses

Wide-ranging experience providing a pay for performance methodology by conducting complex compensation analyses, including in-depth market analyses, benchmarking with approved survey sources, interpreting data, identifying trends, using cost modeling, and evaluating policies and/or processes for a large organization.

Market Analysis

Advanced knowledge and experience in the following: participation of compensation surveys; collaboration with survey vendors and/or compensation consultants in the review and finalization of survey data; Collection of published market data to analyze market pay levels and rates as compared to the internal job families. Demonstrated experience providing recommendations to annual salary increase funding based to analysis of position to market; Recommending base pay structure revisions and/or new structures while maintaining external competitiveness and internal equity; Ensuring cost effectiveness and consistency with compensation trends and organization objectives.

Programmatic Development

Advanced knowledge of compensation program design and best-practices, including demonstrated experience developing, implementing, and/or administrating new theories and methods related to annual increase plans, performance and salary management, variable compensation, incentive compensation, and/or executive compensation.

Strategic Communication

Advanced experience communicating complex compensation philosophies and/or strategies, including the demonstrated ability to incorporate data-driven proposals, presentation of ideas, and successfully challenging, persuading, and networking with key contacts outside our own area of expertise.

Compliance

Advanced knowledge of FLSA, EEO, ADA, and other compliance requirements that relate to compensation practices, including demonstrated experience applying these concepts to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.

Compensation Systems

Advanced knowledge and demonstrated experience utilizing enterprise/ERP HR information systems and/or relational databases supporting compensation (e.g. Oracle, etc.) and web-based survey tool platforms used to perform market pricing analysis and (e.g. PayScale/Market Pay, etc.).

Education and Years of Relevant Experience

Requires a bachelor's degree in a related field and a minimum of eight years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience and/or achievements that demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the job.

Desired Qualifications:

Government R&D

In-depth design, implementing, and/or administering compensation programs for government, government contractors, and/or large research and development (R&D) organizations.

Certifications

World at Work certification as a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP).

Oracle

Knowledge and experience working with Oracle systems.

Analytical Skills

Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills to interpret complex data to identify trends.

Microsoft Applications

Highly proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint software, and HRIS systems.

Work Location: The work location for this position is Telework and is in Los Alamos, NM Telework is defined as working from offsite but within 2 hours of ground commute of this location. Reporting onsite may be periodically necessary. All work locations are at the discretion of management and can change at any time with appropriate notice.

This position has the potential for remote work. Remote work is defined as working offsite that is greater than 2 hours of the Laboratory location. Reporting onsite may be periodically necessary. All work locations are at the discretion of management.

Position commitment : Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee has not served the time required, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of their Division Leader. The position commitment for this position is 1 Year.

Additional Details

Directive 206.2 - Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2 (https://directives.nnsa.doe.gov/supplemental-directive/sd-0206-0002) . Please note that this requirement applies only to citizens of the United States. Foreign nationals are subject to a similar requirement under DOE Order 142.3A.

Clearance : Q (Position will be cleared to this level). Selected applicants will be subject to a background investigation conducted by or on behalf of the Federal Government, and must meet eligibility requirements* for access to classified matter. This position requires a Q clearance. and obtaining such clearance requires US Citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances. Dependent upon the position, additional authorization to access classified information may be required, which may or may not be available to dual citizens. Receipt of a Q clearance and additional access authorization ultimately is a decision of the Federal Government and not of Triad.

*Eligibility requirements: To obtain a clearance, an individual must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances. New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law. A positive drug test for marijuana will result in termination of employment, even if the use was pre-offer.

Regular position: Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status.
