Amergis Utilization Financial Specialist in Longview, Texas

Performs technical and procedural functions as necessary to insure the successful billing for services provided by clinic/CSU staff. Responsible for determining financial responsibility and collecting patient financial information at the time of service. Screens for available third-party payer resources. Researches identified resources to determine and/or verify outpatient psychiatric benefits. Accountable for the accuracy of patient demographic and financial information recorded in the center clinical database. Monitors financial and/or clinical data for individual payer requirements compliance. Ensures that all non-compliance issues are resolved prior to, or at the time of, the patients’ next scheduled appointment. Maintains working knowledge of psychiatric procedures / services. Monitors clinical services documentation for corporate and funding source compliance prior to submission to the center clinical database. Is responsible for office and Program support services essential to operation of clinic. This position may require travel. Ensures compliance with all Community Healthcore safety policies and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education/licensure: Bachelor’s with business concentration or Associate degree with 2-3 years related experience preferred; High School Diploma / GED Equivalent supported by courses in business practices, with 3-5 years related experience in medical billing/collections preferred. Have a current valid driver’s license insurable in state of residence.

Experience/Knowledge: Computer data entry experience / emphasizing speed and accuracy.

Requires advanced organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.

Requires advanced interview and communication skills.

Functions as a team member and actively participates in continuous quality improvement activities.

Demonstrates aptitude for logical and deliberate problem solving and decision making.
