    What you’ll do as an Operator Telecom Construction Equipment

  • You will safely operate drill equipment on jobsite which may include but not limited to the following: Directional Drill, Backhoe / Excavator, Skid Steer, Tractor Trailer (Moving Equipment / Haul Water), Vacuum Truck/Trailer

  • You will restore and/or landscape disturbed areas of the jobsite

  • You will develop and maintain a bore schedule

  • You will be responsible for the site set-up and clean-up

  • You will load and unload tools, materials and equipment on truck

  • You will be involved in new site Job Safety Analysis

  • JSA prior to starting construction

  • You will set up safety perimeter using signage, cones and safety barriers and at times flagging traffic.

  • Perform work in all weather conditions

  • Other duties as assigned

    What you’ll need

  • To be 18 years of age or older

  • Authorization to work in the United States for this company

  • Must be able to pass a background check and company drug screening.

  • Valid standard Driver's License or a Class A Commercial Driver's License with tanker endorsement

  • MVR record that is deemed acceptable by the company - You are able to maintain a safe work environment

  • High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience

    Additional qualifications

  • Experience running heavy equipment preferred.

  • Experience with drill set up and design processes, is preferred

  • You are able to work in all weather conditions

  • You are able to lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs as needed with or without assistance

  • You are able to work over-time; after hours; on weekends, for emergencies or on-call

  • You are experienced with drilling equipment and understand their capabilities and limitations

  • You are able to proficiently use locators to safely identify utilities - You may have experience with drill set up and design processes –

  • You may able to read and understand work orders, safety rules and operating instructions

  • You are able to climb up and down ladders, machinery, and other objects –

  • You may have previous construction or utility construction experience Specific vision abilities required to perform this job include but are not limited to: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus potentially near and/or far as needed. Employees in this job classification may be exposed to dust, fumes or other airborne pathogens.

  • Employees may be exposed to toxic or corrosive chemicals as well as moving machinery parts and pieces. Remote work may be required; long driving and sitting will be required.

  • The noise level in the work environment for this position is moderate.

  • Must be able to attend and pass all company required training as needed.

  • May be required to work over-time; after hours; on weekends, for emergencies or be on-call as work is needed to ensure work is completed.

  • May include working nights and holidays as needed.

  • May be required to travel in state or overnight as necessary to meet business and job requirements.

  • Regular and timely attendance is an essential function of this position.

  • The noise level in the work environment for this position is moderate.

  • Employees performing functions of this position are regularly exposed to outside weather conditions which can include but is not limited to: extreme heat and cold temperatures; inclement weather such as rain, snow, sleet and dust as well as adverse driving conditions including wet roads, icy roads, and fog.

    Pay Range: The Operator Telecom Construction Equipment hourly wage range is $20.00 - $26.00, depending on experience.
