Town of Longmeadow MA Building Maintenance Technician in Longmeadow, Massachusetts

Building Maintenance Technician The Town of Longmeadow, MA DPW is seeking qualified applicants for the FT positions of Building Maintenances Technician. Position is responsible for performing a variety of unskilled, semi-skilled, skilled, and technical work and related tasks in maintaining the facilities, and buildings system/equipment. Successful candidate must have: Knowledge of relevant Massachusetts General Laws related to essential functions. Knowledge of facility maintenance; knowledge of hazards and safety precautions common to municipal maintenance and repair activities; knowledge of practices, methods, materials, and tools used in modern equipment and facilities maintenance. Ability to multi-task and manage conflict. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to maintain good public relations and to maintain effective collaborative working relationships with Town departments, department heads, fellow employees, officials and the general public and to respond in a courteous and professional manner. Ability to meet Project timetables. Ability to work independently. Strong communication skills, problem-solving skills and customer service skills. Strong skill in operating Pneumatic tools and equipment. High School diploma or equivalent, and 1 to 3 years of related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, certification, and experience. Must have and obtain valid driver\'s license. Must be able to pass a CORI check. Required to be on call as needed to respond to emergencies Salary \$25.48- \$27.04 per hour DOE/DOQ; excellent benefits.
