As a Counselor at Phoenix House, you will facilitate activities of daily living, community meetings, engagement and carrying out treatment plans. You will provide multi- facetted evidence-based group counseling as well as psychosocial interventions.

A day in the life of our Counselor is to carry out case management/individual counseling, conduct group counseling, participate in case conferences, engaging and motivating clients and completing all related documentation in the electronic health records system.
You will have responsibilities including but not limited to:
Provides individual counseling and treatment/recovery plan preparation, monitoring and review
Facilitates activities of daily living, community meetings, engagement, carrying out treatment planning in milieu
Provide therapeutic interactions to foster patients social, cognitive and behavioral skill development
Provide supervision of milieu staff
Provide psychosocial interventions to teach skills for coping with urges, craving, impulsive behavior and cognitive distortions in thinking, motivational interviewing techniques
Provide individual, group and family counseling
Plan and facilitate interactions with residents within the milieu to build social, emotional, and behavioral functioning
Assisting in supervision of activities related to establishing a treatment environment
Prepare and maintain case records.

Salary range $20.48 - $30.00
Job Shift Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, however, the facility is a 24/7 365-day operating facility
REQUIRED EDUCATION
- High School Diploma or equivalent
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION
Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) in good standing
LMSW/LMHC Preferred
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- Minimum two years in a behavioral health/substance use disorder treatment program
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- This job operates in an indoor office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones and photocopiers.
