Team: The Times Media Product Management team is organised around three core pillars of the Times product; Subscription Growth, Reader Experience and Commercial Advertising. Each pillar is made up of cross-functional squads of Product, Design and Business Analysis and supported by a dedicated Delivery and Engineering team.

Role: The role of Lead BA will be charged with leading and mentoring a team of cross discipline BAs, spanning all three pillars. You will be joining at an exciting time in the evolution of both the Product team and The Times as a whole. You will be responsible for executing the Product strategy and directing the BA team. This role is crucial in defining and delivering high-impact digital initiatives, optimising processes, and enhancing business outcomes.

Day to day you will:

  • Lead business analysis efforts for high impact digital product initiatives, ensuring alignment with business goals.

  • Act as a bridge between business needs and technical capabilities, ensuring clarity and feasibility of requirements.

  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and UX teams to define product requirements and user stories.

  • Define and document business processes, workflows, and system integrations.

  • Utilise data-driven insights to support decision-making and measure the impact of digital product enhancements.

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of digital projects.

  • Develop business cases and present findings to senior stakeholders.

  • Continuously evaluate and refine digital product performance through data analysis and user feedback.

What we are looking for in you:

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst in a digital product environment, as well as managing a group of Business Analysts.

  • Strong understanding of agile frameworks and methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.).

  • Expertise in gathering, analysing, and documenting business and functional requirements.

  • Proficiency in tools such as JIRA, Confluence, SQL, and business intelligence platforms.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of influencing across all levels.

  • Experience in working with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced digital environment.

  • Experience in digital transformation projects or platform migrations.
