As an Interim Senior Fund Accountant (maternity leave cover) at CBRE Investment Management, you'll play a crucial role in our Program Finance Team. You'll work closely with internal and external stakeholders to implement robust processes and controls, ensuring accurate and timely fund reporting. We're looking for an established Fund Controller with a strong background in real estate, financial reporting, and debt compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare fund reporting to include NAV, total distribution calculations, backup papers and details.

  • Oversight of property manager accounting teams and Operating Manager, including establishing consistency of service and ensuring quality, accuracy, and timeliness of their outputs.

  • Assist in preparing interim accounting reports, year-end reports, and accounts for audit. Take the lead in preparing and providing working papers for the year-end audit and preparing SPV accounts.

  • Prepare information for external tax advisors for tax returns.

  • As a recognised expert in the Yardi Voyager accounting and property management system, which property managers and fund accounting utilise.

  • Liaise with/oversee registrar/administration service provided by external organisations.

  • Provide input into regulatory reporting.

  • Support the property investment team in understanding property-specific accounting and tax issues.

  • Assist the property investment team with the preparation of property-specific performance reporting on both a quarterly and annual basis.

  • Debt compliance reporting

  • Assist the property investment team if required by calculating performance metrics, inputs to modelling fund return scenarios, managing and reporting project status, and preparing budgets, including cash flow forecasts.

Person Specification

  • Qualified ACA or ACCA

  • Real estate experience

  • Knowledge and understanding of both UK GAAP and IFRS and their application to the real estate sector. Able to prepare fund statutory accounts for audit.

  • Good interpersonal skills, confident and assertive where required, and pro-active

  • Ability to prioritise and co-ordinate tasks efficiently, ensuring all deadlines are met

  • Maintains a positive attitude towards routine tasks.

  • Accurate and exceptional attention to detail, analytical approach

  • Sociable and outgoing

  • Flexible approach to work

  • Understands and appreciates the importance of using discretion.

  • Team player who deals effectively with colleagues, clients, and outsourced service providers

  • Debt compliance.

Skills Required:

  • Advanced Excel, Yardi (Advantage).

  • Project Management

  • Knowledge and understanding of tax requirements.

  • Onshore and Offshore property structures and respective corporate and tax compliance.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing
