Peloton Interactive, Inc. Director, International Communications (Maternity Cover) in London, United Kingdom

ABOUT THE ROLE

Peloton, the leading interactive fitness platform, is seeking a Director of International Communications to help craft and implement communications and PR activities that support and promote our overall strategic priorities across the markets we’re in around the world. This person should have an understanding of how to approach communications in different regions, be passionate about PR, tech, innovation and the evolving media landscape, be a creative, strategic thinker and problem-solver with an affinity for details, an exceptional work ethic and a positive attitude. Please note this is a contract role.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with SVP of Global Communications, local market Comms leads and external PR agencies to plan and implement communications strategy for Peloton across business, technology and consumer media and convey the brand’s vision and value proposition across geographies.

  • Work closely with the Peloton Product, Studio and Production teams to support product and content launches globally.

  • Identify, vet and proactively secure press interviews and speaking opportunities for key executives across relevant topics to successfully position Peloton leadership as visionaries and thought leaders in the fitness, tech and media industries.

  • Draft pitches and press releases for a wide range of business announcements.

  • Help craft a crisis communications playbook for each market, working with key cross-functional partners across the business.

  • Collaborate with internal communications colleagues to ensure that employee-facing communications and programs are tailored to each market’s team.

  • Contribute to interview and speaking prep for executives, including the development of presentations, talking points, briefing documents, and other written and visual materials.

  • Ensure brand consistency at a local level by developing and executing messaging that is tailored to each market.

  • Cultivate and maintain deep relationships with business press, consumer media, key industry opinion leaders and external stakeholders.

  • Serve as a trusted leader to regional business leaders on reputation management within markets

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years of experience working in corporate communications and/or media relations for a global brand, with expertise in managing international markets, preferably at a high-profile public company and/or a reputable global PR firm

  • International / non-U.S. experience is required (international assignment or otherwise) and experience managing and leading international teams

  • Proven record of pitching and securing business-focused stories, a deep understanding of the tech, business and media sectors

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Experience managing agencies, and putting in place scalable processes to drive and measure results

  • Ability to counsel local function heads in each market on key messaging and communications strategy

  • Experience doing scenario planning and crisis communications

  • Highly organized, great attention to detail and ability to ruthlessly prioritize

  • Willingness to travel internationally and domestically as needed, once travel resumes
