Your opportunity

This is a 18-month Level 3 Data Technician Apprenticeship programme which is a work based qualification focusing on gaining first hand experience in the team and discovering what your future would be like with us through induction, on the job learning, skills trainings and networking.

You will:

  • Be part of a data management team and learn from others

  • Learn about data sets involved in the asset management industry

  • Learn Agile development process

  • Learn about cloud and on-premise database technology such as Databricks, Snowflake and SQL Server

  • Learn to login to and traverse a database and identify data objects

  • Learn to investigate data using SQL (Structured Query Language)

  • Learn about other components in the data science eco-system such as Python, how to access log reports and scheduling software

  • Learn to use Jira, source code control repository and release software components to other environments

  • Communicate with end users and provide explanations using data

  • Carry out other duties as assigned

    Must have skills

  • Numerate with A level Mathematics or equivalent qualification

  • Good command of English (written and verbal)

  • Keen learner and interested in investigating data

  • Enjoys being part of a team

  • Attention to detail

  • Enjoys problem solving

    Nice to have skills

  • Comfortable communicating with users and other teams

  • Advantageous to have some computer programming experience

  • Exposure to database technology and SQL

  • Fundamental knowledge on python programming language

    You will be expected to understand the regulatory obligations of the firm, and abide by the regulated entity requirements and JHI policies applicable for your role.
