Your Role: Working within the fast paced commercial team, you will be supporting and learning from experts in multiple disciplines and categories to assist us in reaching our revenue targets. Over a period of 24 months, you will gain knowledge and expertise in multiple areas, giving you the foundations for a long and successful career in the media industry and a deep understanding of News UK as a business.

At the end of the 2 year program you’ll complete your apprenticeship in Commercial Sales.

Being a News UK Sales Apprentice ,you will have the opportunity to be fully immersed in the Sales team, working with some of the biggest News and Radio brands including The Sun, The Times & The Sunday Times, talkSPORT and Virgin Radio. You will work across multiple sales teams who work directly with our clients and agencies. You will gain insight into all aspects of sales from understanding clients' needs to building relationships and understanding how to develop product and market knowledge. You will also be given the opportunity to rotate across our Commercial department.

Over the course of 24 months you will study towards your Level 4 Sales Executive qualification, this will be combined with on the job, digital and interactive learning. The apprenticeship will equip you with skills and knowledge to kick start your career in sales. Some of the areas it covers include; Impactful communication, digital skills, market knowledge, customer experience, effective collaboration, resilience and professional development.

During your time with us you will earn above living wage, get full training, study towardsSales Executive Level 4 Apprenticeship qualification (with your course fees paid). You will also receive mentoring/coaching from the industry’s best, as well as any other equity you might need to fulfil your full potential.

Day to day you will: During your 24 month period you’ll work with a number of different teams in the commercial department and will undertake a range of tasks including, but not limited to:

  • Working with internal creative, client and publishing teams to produce sales decks and plans for clients and agencies

  • Producing reports for management on performance in different business areas

  • Working on competitor analysis to identify areas in which we can improve as a business and gaps in our product offering

  • Support different teams with administrative tasks
