Overview The primary duty of this position is to support the Institute for Disability Research, Policy and Practice - Research and Training Division by developing and conducting training and technical assistance school districts and special education staff. This position reports to the project Principal Investigator and has no supervisory responsibilities. This position is telework-eligible within the state of Utah.

Responsibilities Develop, implement, and facilitate the Workplace Supports and Work Based Learning Development Trainings (50%)

  • Assist with the development of Work Based Learning Experience training curriculum for school district administrators, transition specialists, teachers, and paraprofessionals in special education programs.
  • Organize and facilitate trainings for Work Based Learning and Workplace Supports, schedule classes, prepare materials, maintain training reports, and development-related information into the Canvas Learning Managing System (LMS).
  • Grade and provide individual feedback on all training assignments.
  • Aide in curriculum revisions based on participant feedback that aligns with evidence-based practices.
  • Participate in planning meetings with various stakeholders. Promote project awareness through community partnerships and networking.
  • Use Online computer software such as Excel, Word, and other programs to maintain thorough training records. Develop, coordinate, facilitate, and conduct technical assistance for school district special education staff (50%)

  • Provides technical assistance to school district administrators, transition specialists, teachers, and paraprofessionals in special education programs.

  • Develops and implements formal technical assistance plans, content outlines, handouts, and evaluation tools; that align with the Work Based Learning skill-based competencies.
  • Aide in the development of the technical assistance structure that supports and builds off of the Work Based Learning trainings.
  • Conducts needs assessment with school districts, by identifying goals, and create customized technical assistance plans.
  • Develop and facilitate community of practice sessions for Work Based participants who have completed the Work Based Learning and Workplace Supports trainings.
  • Responds to new project requests for training and development. Works with supervisor and team to prioritize and assign work.
