Utah State University Office Assistant in Logan, Utah
The Bursar's Office under the direction of the Controller's Office seeks to hire an Office Assistant/Accounting Assistant II to work with our third party and sponsored students. This position is for 30 hours per week.
Post provisional credits on student accounts from vouchers and authorizations received.
Invoice sponsors for accounts receivable.
Reconcile sponsor accounts and follow for payment.
Meet student fee payment deadlines promptly and accurately.
Maintain vendor and student records.
Track invoices through Banner and spreadsheets.
Answer phone calls from students, parents, vendors and staff.
Work with other University departments.
Post payments to student and vendor accounts.
Counsel students regarding sponsor restrictions and rules.
Other duties as assigned.
Two years of increasingly responsible office and bookkeeping experience, OR an associate's degree.
Basic computer skills with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel and Word.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Self-motivated and able to successfully complete work assignments with limited supervision.
Tact, discretion and independent judgment required.
Accuracy and attention to detail and follow-up.
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to respond professionally to difficult and demanding customer service issues.
Experience with USU's Banner system and University policies and procedures.
Four years of increasingly responsible office and bookkeeping experience OR an associate's degree plus two years office and bookkeeping experience.
