Cache Valley Center for the Arts Art Camp DRAMA TEACHER in LOGAN, Utah

Summer Art Camp at CacheARTS guides students aged 5-11 through a rotation of classes in different art forms including art, ceramics, cooking, music, dance, and drama. There is a brief performance and art exhibition on the last day of each camp. This sampling of classes allows students to try out many different art forms to discover interests and talents. Art Camp holds six classes each day. Each class is an hour long and has up to 15 students at a time. Some of the lessons should relate to the camp themes; however, emphasis should be placed on introducing artistic processes and principles through the learning activities. We hope their short time with us will get students excited about taking more in-depth classes in the future. AREAS OF EMPHASIS The following is intended to be representative of the work performed by incumbents in this position and is not all-inclusive. The omission of a specific duty or responsibility will not preclude it from the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical extension of position responsibilities. •Prepare and teach lessons each scheduled day of art camp. Submit basic lesson concepts to the Art Camp Director in advance of each session. •Create a safe and happy environment for students. Consult the director with any challenges. •Purchase supplies needed for class; stay within allotted budget or obtain approval prior to purchase. You can be reimbursed with receipts or ask CacheARTS for purchase assistance. •Turn in timecard and receipts on time. •Coordinate facility needs in advance; this may include room access outside of camp time, requesting use of supplies from our collection, or storing items in the room. Leave your room ready for others to use at the end of each day. Floors and tables are to be kept clear and broom clean. •Art, Cooking, and Ceramics classes are generally provided with teaching assistants. QUALIFICATIONS The ideal candidate has experience teaching children their subject, especially in a camp or classroom setting. A strong candidate is comfortable managing classroom behavior and has a good grasp of the higher-level principals of their art form. Candidates should enjoy working with children.
