Industrial Engineer for Livonia, MI:

Analyze product designs, compare with competitors' designs, and evaluate the structural differences. Identify manufacturing cost and assembly time saving opportunities for customers.  Implement lean and Six Sigma learnings in analyzing vehicle builds and propose alternatives to improve upon current state. Present findings to Industry experts to analyze feasibility of the proposals. Work collectively with cross functional engineering teams and team leads to evaluate identified opportunities. Create project deliverables and reports to be presented to customers. Generate reports of mass analysis, material types and manufacturing methods to compare vehicles across multiple platforms. Direct the costing team and Design for Assembly team in calculating time savings and cost savings. Perform/assist in virtual build of key assembly processes and develop standards during New Product Introduction. Responsible for industrial Engineering activities like setting up standard times at workstation level using PMTS technique like MOST, MTM or MODAPTS. Conduct ergonomic analysis on each operation, identity and analyze ergonomic risks and identify counter measures. Identifying bottlenecks, issues and working towards process improvements, cycle time improvements using Lean/ WCM principles to improve internal operations. Carry out feasibility analyses while developing new layouts and make modifications to the current layouts. Collect data to identify opportunities to streamline, improve, and increase standardization as well as evaluate workflow to improve safety and efficiency. Analyzing operations, designing workflows and processes, reducing inefficiency, and ensuring that final outcome meet the established quality standard. Designing the layout of facilities and determining personnel requirements. Prepare and present weekly project status to key stakeholders. Participate in customer review sessions to discuss recommendations and identify further scope for improvement. Coordinate with customers in implementing the proposed changes.

Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering or Industrial Systems Engineering with 24 months experience required, foreign equivalent accepted. 40 hrs a week, Must be willing to travel/relocate to client sites.
