Description

We are in search of a proactive and meticulous Financial Controller to join our team based in Southfield, Michigan. The individual will play a crucial role in the logistics industry, managing full cycle accounting and overseeing the financial operations of our organization.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct detailed account reconciliation and analysis for various accounts including Prepaid Expenses, Deposits, Accrued Expenses, Investments, Capital Leases, Members Equity, and Inter-company balances.

• Prepare and maintain journal entries, including recurring entries and allocations.

• Coordinate the monthly book close process to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

• Supervise and manage Accounts Receivable (A/R), credit, and collections processes.

• Oversee banking activities, including deposits, cash management, and reconciliation.

• Plan, coordinate, and execute the annual financial audit.

• Assist in compiling information for the Company’s annual tax returns.

• Develop and implement policies and procedures with a focus on internal controls.

• Lead special projects as required to support organizational objectives.

• Manage the existing accounting team and oversee department expansion as needed, including managing an offshore team effectively.

• Ensure weekly invoicing is completed efficiently.

• Manage the accounts receivable collection process including working with 3rd party collections agencies.

• Manage offshore teams effectively.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a related role

• Proven experience in full cycle accounting

• Proficiency in supervisory management, demonstrating strong leadership skills

• Strong knowledge and experience in cash management

• Proficiency in IFRS Accounting

• Ability to prepare and analyze monthly financial statements

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field is preferred
